Sporta enjoyed a successful and well attended General Meeting on February 5th in London. The morning session involved a range of speakers including Simon Inglis, Martyn Allison and David Minton. During the afternoon session members discussed issues and participated in workshops relating to various aspects of trust development. Sport England recently launched the This Girl Can campaign which has so far been a huge success. Sporta members have been involved in supporting the campaign, aiming to increase participation and encouraging women to be active. Coverage has been well received and social media numbers are proving just how popular the campaign is. Follow the campaign at @ThisGirlCan.

 

Sporta's next General Meeting will take place on 5th February 2015 in London. The venue for the meeting will be the Royal Over-Seas League in central London.

Sporta are pleased to confirm the lead guest Speaker at next month's General Meeting will be Simon Inglis. Simon is an historian, author and broadcaster who has a passion for Sporting heritage. 
The meeting will also feature talks and workshops from both well known faces and firms from outside the sector.

Sporta's first SportaCulture event will take place at the Library of Birmingham on 20th January 2015, 10:30 - 15:00pm. There will be presentations from members of the Cultural Development Group with discussions on the role of leisure and cultural trusts in managing and developing cultural facilities.
